Is there a nice place to go snorkeling in Tortola that is not too far away from where the cruise ships dock?

I will be in Tortola for only one day being that I will be on a cruise ship and wish to get in some good snorkeling preferably right off a beach if possible.

You can either pay big bucks with the cruise line who'll set you up for snorkeling...

or

buy your own snorkel gear and when you get off the ship, head to the first taxi you see and ask him to take you to a beach that has great snorkeling.  Give him a time to pick you up too.  (they need the money...he'll be there...give him a tip, kid him with if you get here on time I'll give $5 say) .

This way you save money on snorkel gear.  You get to snorkel on each island you visit and the taxi driver who lives there, knows the best beaches on the island so you won't be on a crowded one where all the ship folks head to!

This is what we do all the time and it works great.  Just tell the taxi driver what kind of beach you want...one with a bar, one with a bar and snorkeling...that sort of thing.  private.  :)

have u ever been on a cruise? they set that all up for you before u even get there. your not the only one on the boat whos gonna go snorkeling. u go as a group to a pre set location
