Is there a nickname for the Euro? Like the US Dollar "Buck" or UK Pound "Quid"?

I'm sure nicknames vary from country to country, I'm curious to learn them.

  1. I don't think anyone has a real catching nickname yet.

    I heard Rodo, or Royo a couple times in Prague, but I don't think that is mainstream.

    "euro"

    is the main one.

    Kinda boring, but there you go.

  3. Not really...it's pronounced differently from country to country though. Such as here in germany it's pronounced "Oy-Row"

  4. i guess there is no real nick name for the euro, which is used in every country.

    here in germany you sometimes call him Teuro, because it feels like everything got more expensive with the introduction of the euro.

    a  mix of Teuer and Euro

    Teuer (german) = expensive

    It is just called 'the euro'.
