  1. In my state the public school offers an online homeschool high school that is free.

    Check your county school site.

Or tell me your county and I will research it for you.

    I was a homeschooler.

  2. Go to k12.com and see if they offer a virtual academy in your state.  It is free and they send all the books that you need and supply you with a computer and printer to use.  You have to buy paper and ink for the printer.  They also reimburse you a certain amount for you internet connection.  They have a great curriculum and you would receive a solid education.  Best of luck!

  3. You can check out Christian Liberty Press

    homeschools.org

If you want to be "enrolled" in the Academy it is $545.00( Class Administration Plan) for 9th through 12th grade. All it means to be " enrolled" is that the Acacdemy has your back. They grade the some of the work and a majority of the test, and they give you a quartely report card. Or you could do the "Family Plan", that is $395.00 and they only provide you with books ( yours and teachers ) and you do the rest. YOur mom grades it and she gives you the report card. They do offer help with the hsdla.( if you choose the Class plan)

I am doing the Family Plan. I have heard great things about CLP. You also will take a placement test ( CAT test) and they will correlate your curriculm for you according to your needs.

I hope this info is helpful to you. Best of all for you... Jeanna, homeschool momma to 3.

  4. Not less than 300

  5. Unless you use a public online school like k12.com and connectionsacademy.com you won't find a $300 program.  I'm not sure if you are interested in this, but you might want to think about using a correspondence school.  I use Penn Foster and it's $900 for all Four years of high school.  If you can't pay the $900 if full you can do monthly payments of $34.  They send you your books to your house and you do your exams either online or on a scantron that you will mail back to the school.  Also, make sure to sign up as a homeschooler in your state.  The hslda.org website will show you what you would need to do.

  6. I found this website:

    www.connectionsacademy.com

Welcome to Connections Academy—the free K–11 public schooling program that students attend from home.

  7. Try Switched On Schoolhouse. Its a computer based program that you can sell on ebay when youre done with it to get your money back.

  8. Though still in its infancy, there are a few online homeschool co-ops that are giving it a go to provide classes online. Basically, it is just like a local co-op, but the classes are held online.

Most of them are using Moodle as their course management system. A few are also integrating Elluminate. Moodle-based classes are great if you want the flexibility of setting your own schedule and going at your own pace through a course. Elluminate is great if you prefer to meet, live, online with your teacher and classmates. Elluminate has a full-duplex audio system built right in. It has a fantastic whiteboard which allows the teacher to do PowerPoint presentation and make neat interactives for the student. As a student you get to hear, do, and see all with classmates and teacher.

Here is the web address of one that has both Moodle and Elluminate: http://www.virtualhomeschoolgroup.com/. They currently are running several Elluminate high school level classes: Literary Analysis, Composition, Algebra I, and Chemistry. If your mom or dad volunteer to teach or assist any course, you get priority placement as far as seats go. After the kids of the volunteers are placed, then they will take additional students whose parents are not teaching in the co-op as seats allow. How many students are in each class is up to the volunteer parent that is teaching.
