  1. Sure there is .See your friendly boat repair shop. marina??

  2. Yeah, it's called "Sandpaper."  Another good product I recommend is "Elbow Grease".  Try both these products and you will remove the "paint" from the fiberglass.

  3. FILE is correct... the best way to remove paint from fiberglass is the good old sanding block !!

Now it really depends on what type of paint you're removing from the fiberglass... epoxy, enamel, latex, oil ?  Are you really trying to remove PAINT, or do you want to change the color OF the fiberglass ?

More information would help, check back, or take with someone at your local WEST-MARINE store. GOOD LUCK

  4. What kind of paint are you removing?  And what is it that's made of fiberglass?

  5. Harsh chemicals damage the fiberglass so most chemical paint strippers for fiberglass are mild and therefore not very effective. Personally I use a thungsten carbide tipped scraper for the bulk of the work and then finish with wet and dry sandpaper.

Remember fiberglass is an irritant so wear a mask, antifoul paint on fiberglass is toxic so wrap up well and keep the area you are sanding well wetted down for dust control. Some thungsten tipped scrapers come with an attachment for a vaccume cleaner which is wise when scraping antifoul.
