Is there a particular reason democrats continue to nominate far left wingnuts as their candidate for Prez?

The past few nominee's have been floating so far left that they are socialists. Why not nominate a more centrist candidate and actually win an election or two?

simply because they think that charisma is more important than substance.  they could have put up a number of conservative democrats which i would have considered voting for.

Any time an ideal of belief is in it's dying gasps it always becomes desperate with it's choices. The issue is there are still a few liberals at the top of the party...once they eventually die off or retire the party will go back to center. Look at all the congressional seats they won...all with moderate to conservative democrats....so they are understanding this...however it's still a hard concept to grasp. The republicans did the same stuff...i mean look at bob dole for gods sake. If they lose this election then the liberal leaders in the democratic party will begin to be retired it think.

It's the Republicans who are shifting to the right.  Nixon and Goldwater were much more moderate than anyone including and after Reagan.  The warmongers of the Democratic party joined with the Republicans as neo-cons and the Republican party has become more fascist ever since.
