Is there a particular time of year that cows go into heat?

I'm working on a story and would like to have a situation in which some cows go into heat, making a bull kinda crazy. Is there any particular time (month, season?) cows go into heat? If so, when is it? Not sure that this makes a difference, but the story takes place in Texas. Does warmer weather affect when cows go into heat??? Thanks for the help.

Not really, if you have 40 cows in a barn, they'll all be spread throughout the year in order to have calves so the produtcion of milk is constant throughout the year.

Keep it simple, go with spring, it'll reach most people.

Cows will go into heat about 40-50 days after having their calf and continue to cycle evey 21 days or so until bred.  The time of year has no effect however they ussually will not breed in extememly hot or cold conditions.  Spring would make sense to most people.
