  1. Ofcourse!

  2. If you drive between Gretna and Carlisle you will see a lot of roadworks. We have told the English that this is the extension of the M74 southbound to Carlisle. In reality, it is new border crossing control facilties for when Scotland regains its independence.

But, until then, there is no passport control on buses between England and Scotland.

(However, I hear from my contacts that from early in 2009, all buses from England will be terminating at Gretna Gateway, so that anyone wanting to venture further into Scotland will need to change onto a Scottish vehicle at Gretna. This is to prevent English Concession Travel cards being used in Scotland.)

  3. Yes, passport control is on the A1, just north of Berwick.

  4. I'm European, what on earth is a Euro card!

When you say leave by bus I'm assuming you mean coach - via a ferry/tunnel?

There is passport control how ever you leave the country.

And does that guy mean Prestatyn??

  5. Yea, its really bazaar, my really daft cousin, was on the bus, and like the driver was Irish and we got stuck in this tiny welsh village called Prestein, and this side da border he says passports please? So I get it out, the driver at the top a da curve in tiny bridge, rolls back, Ah says no way mayt were still in England rather proud in my best Michael Caine voice from a Bridge too far, so he says as Irish driver changes gear, well get them ready soon, then rolls forward, same back same back same, yea um fell flat on me too after half a day I said even in the movie the Rubber Duck he was wise enough to drive inta the drink and Driver did? Sorry bad irish english welsh joke my grand mother was scottish....

    Drum roll....

Its a part of Europe if you were Foreign going to France via chunnel. if you were European you would already know you have a Eurocard for travel in Europe if you have capacity for duel citizenship it will save you a bucket load in visa applications correct me if I am wrong to get some European country card especially if a few or even a side trip to another country were remotely possible.

  6. If you mean to go anywhere except Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland then Yes there is passport control at the ferry port or Channel Tunnel boarding point, you cannot leave England to go outside the UK without a passport that applies whether you are on a bus or in a private car or lorry.
