I have never heard of any invention ever coming out of Mexico. Do they even have a patent office in their country?

  1. there is, its the IMPI

  2. Yes the IMPI is the one office for that, and yes my country is one with the less patents registered in the world, one of the reason is that there is very little support in both private and public sectors for new technologies, no body is willing to risk into a new thing. It´s easier to see something prove to be a success somewhere else, and then try it at Mexico.

The other is that as soon there is an invention they run to the States to patent it and look for investors to make a business for it.

But if you want to document on what is Mexico doing for this try the web CONACYT, and also the inventions of the second largest university on Mex, called IPN, they have some good ones or check UNAM too.
