  1. You can always count on me.

  2. I don't share my email with anyone on this forum, but, I will offer this comment and suggestion.

I consider the Classroom in a Book series the best of the teaching manuals for Adobe products.  The step by step procedures to the various projects offer a wonderful introduction to the tools and features of the applications.

My suggestion is that you do EACH of these projects twice.  Once, using the graphics and files in the included CD.  This will show you how to acheive the various effects.  THEN, do the project again, using your own images and text.  This repetition helps make the lessons stick and, gives you a more realistic feel for how you would solve "real life" situations you will face when using Illustrator in the field.

Also, don't neglect the sections on preparing work for professional print jobs, such as color separations, traps, chokes, bleed, crops, etc.  These might not be areas of your immediate concern, but, if you ever get into a situation where a client expects these things to get done, it would be better if YOU could do it (and get paid for the time) rather than you or the client paying someone else to do it.

By the end of the book, you should have the confidence to tackle most everything that comes your way.
