  1. You are talking about a novel.  I've never heard of it. Possible he just made up town name.


  2. I think it's just a fictional place in Peter Curran's scientific novel "The Ancient Order of Moridura", about which you can find more by doing a search with "Moridanza" or any of the other hints I've provided above (Peter Curran, Moridura).
