I have a 9 hour layover in Paris, and would like to go out to see some of the sites. However, I will be traveling with some large and expensive photography equipment that I may bring on as a carryon. Do any of the paris airports have a place I may store these items securely? Any suggestions.

  1. One idea would be to book a room at the Charles-de-Gaulle airport Ibis Hotel. The rooms are cheap (79 euros per night) but you can also book them by the hour (something lile 11 euros per hour I think).

The hotel is about 200 meter walk from Terminal 3 (If you land at Terminal 1 or 2, you can take the CDG Val free train shuttle - 5 minutes)

Definitely the best option. There are also many other hotels to choose from (Sheraton, Etap....), but I believe Ibis is the cheapest...

  2. you might have trouble taking large expensive photo equipment as a cabine baggage at all.

The anti-terrorism rules have made carrying such stuff difficult.

  3. There are NO Luggage (Les Consigns) facilities at any Paris airport.

For reasons of safety the luggage locker services have been suspended at Roissy-CDG in compliance with the anti-terrorist VIGIPIRATE Plan.
