Question:

Is there a place online where you can drop off items and people can pick them up for free?

We're cleaning out our house and there are several items that we know people would want, but would not be willing to spend money on. Are there any websites (or local stores - I live in California, 94563), where you can tell people you have something and they can just pick it up if they're interested?

I'm NOT looking for a Goodwill/Salvation Army type place. The items I'm asking about (i.e. screwdrivers, playing cards) are things that those places wouldn't be interested in, but an INDIVIDUAL PERSON (or family) might, if it was for free.

Thanks!

  1. called a garage sale here in ohio. set the price at a nickel. all will be gone before noon.

  2. craigslist around us works great. just list it and they'll come pick it up, you don't have to take it anywhere.

  3. I don't know of any place like that.  There's craigslist, but that probably wouldn't work that well for small items like you mentioned.  If you live in town or near a fairly busy street, you could put a box near the curb or sidewalk (not on garbage day) and label it "Free stuff - please help yourself".
