I will be arriving in Florence at 9 am but I can't check into the apt I rented until 4 pm. Is there any safe place I can store my luggage for a couple hours at the main station (Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station) while I wait? Thanks!

  1. Yes. there are places for luggage storage in most of the major stations. The one in Florence is open from 6 am to midnight, so you won't have any problem. The price is 3.80 euro for the first 5 hours and then 0.60 euro per hour for additional time. This site has information on the Santa Maria Novella station in Florence: http://www.raileurope.com/us/train_stati...

and this one is from the Italian Train website: http://www.grandistazioni.it/client_enht...

    - there's a link to a map of the station showing where the Left Luggage office is.

  2. Yes, there is a huge left luggage storage area at the train station. It is an old-fashioned one with staff who handle your luggage, not with lockers. Cost should be around 7 EUR.
