Is there a place where I could try to look for a free seven-string guitar?

I'll probably end up having to buckle down and buy one, but being that their so expensive, I was wondering if there's a place on the internet where there could possibly be someone giving one away for free? Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks.:)

Yea, I like the guys answer before me...they have been making 7 string guitars since 88'. It's a high b string that is added. Ibanez of course being the first manufacturer followedd by B.C. Rich. Anyway...No such luck that I know of. I wish we all could get free "geetars" but not while Bush is still in office. Try your local papers and maybe someone has one cheap. If they do offer up a cheaper price. That way it's almost like free..

There's no such critter. It's either 6 or 12. You might try a pawn shop or a music store that takes trade ins.
