Is there a politician, scientist, or AGW advocate who's living a truly green lifestyle for everyone to see?

I'm not asking about those who still fly private jets and then put solar panels on their roofs or deal in carbon trading. I mean someone who moved into a smaller home, gave up driving, flying, limos, etc. If yes, who? If no, why?

  1. You seem to misunderstand the problem.  We don't have to all move too little houses and become vegetarians to solve the problem of global warming.  We can still have a thriving economy and many enjoyable luxuries in life.  But we have to significantly reduce our CO2 emissions, any way we can.

While you may belittle putting solar panels on a house or buying carbon credits, those very things are doing exactly what we all need to do.  They are reducing the amount of CO2 emissions a person is generating.

If you have a large house, but it's heated with clean renewable energy, you're combating global warming.  If you own a Hummer, yet car-pool and plant trees, you may be doing more to combat global warming than someone that drives their Hybrid 50,000 miles/year and doesn't plant trees.

  5. Believe it or not, Bush's home in Texas is powered on eco friendly technology.  Al Gore's is... well, let's just say he's got the carbon footprint of ten men.  Hmmmm...

  6. Haha... Only one I know is George Bush and his house.

  7. Top 5 green actors according to About.com: http://greenliving.about.com/od/culturec...

One of the best examples is Ed Begley Jr.

"Begley’s entire home is self-sufficient, powered by solar and thermal power, which also provides the juice for his electric car. At one point in time, he apparently refused to fly altogether, even foregoing environmental events to save energy. "
