  1. if the wireless signal strength is strong enough then yes you should have no problem

  2. If you are connecting to a broadband connection in a different household or office to your own, both the owner and the person connecting are considered stealing the ISPs service, as it deprives them of a possible subscription. If they discover this they can prosecute, which some have done successfully under these new laws, or they can terminate the service leaving the subscriber liable to outstanding contract payments. They also can blacklist the subscriber. They can do all of these. He needs to check his contract and ensure there is something IN WRITING giving him the right to share the connection.

  3. If it's not his connection, don't do it.  That's unauthorized use of a secure computer system and will get you (maybe him too) in LOTS of trouble (possibly charged with various crimes) if someone finds out.

As long as it's HIS internet connection (aka he pays for it) he can let anyone he likes connect (assuming there's enough signal).  If you only get the signal weak, ask him to install a wireless repeater on the wall closest to you (and you may need one on your wall closest to him) to get a strong enough signal all the time.

  4. if you mean you can use your friend's wireless internet if he gives you his password and his username, then yes.

however the connection might be too weak and slow but yes you can still try.

just check all the wireless connections your laptop can pickup, select the one your friend has and then put in the password.
