Is there a program for mac or pc that allows you to crop mp3 files?

I have a few mp3 files (audio books) that are hours long. Is there any program that allows you crop mp3 files or split them into separate tracks.

You need an audio editor. Some CD/DVD burning programs like Nero or Easy Media Creator come with a simple sound editor. You open the file and cut and paste, as with image files.

Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio (see link below) is a $50 consumer version of the professional Sound Forge. It is probably the best at that price point.

Audacity is a free open source sound editor. It is powerful but substantially less polished than Sound Forge. If you are OK with experimenting with freeware, apply patches, and ask user groups for answers, it is worth a try.

One of them is JetAudio. It's perfect, but a little difficult to use. You can download it at:
