  1. There are all different kinds of games like 9 ball, stripes and solids, last ball... there are websites where you cna learn anything about pool

  2. I am not sure what you are asking. If you are looking for a formula for shots then, no, there are no formulas. However, since there is a lot of physics that go into the game, I'm sure that there are formulas that go along with that. For example, a straight in shot, with a center ball (cue) hit will have a 100% energy transfer. But, a "cut shot" will decrease the amount of energy transfered from the cue ball to the object ball. I do not have the formulas, nor do I know how to begin to calculate these shots. Geometry is actually more imoprtant than formulas. An example would be for "bank shots". All bank shots respond as "equal and opposite" after the ball hits the rail. Again physics can play into this formula, because when a ball is hit at a certain speed, or the shooter puts a spin on the ball (english) it changes the angel off the rail. This may be something that you are already aware of and if so I appoligize for being so wordy. If not then I hope it helps.

  3. The most complete technical analysis of the the game of pool can be found at the website of Dr. Dave Alciatore.  He's a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University.

Dr. Alciatore also wrote a book, which I highly recommend, plus a collection of videos at the site.
