Is there a proper way to care for eyelashes?

Ummm I haven't even thought about caring for eyelashes as a person ages.. I just curl mine and put mascara on to make them look pretty haha.

wash your face and eyes with a moisturizer that won't sting your eyes.

Not really no. once you get older, your hair becomes thiner. But i would mainly suggest dont put layers of mascara on them. that can damage them and make them weak and break. also try to not use mascara if you really dont need it. and use eye wash, and wash gently. not just some soap or face stuff. "EYE MAKEUP REMOVER" and some peole have a habit of pulling their lashes...dont do that either

No not that I know of. Just wash your face everyday, including your eyelids/lashes.

Also just wear mascara.

Or you can use an eye lash curler.
