I need a publisher!

I have stacks of poems and folders filled with short stories!

*People tell me I am very creative.

Where do I find a publisher? I am 16 years old and I refuse to waste anymore time!

Help!!!!!!!!!!

(I have searched the web and found nothing)

I dont want to wait any longer! (Some people decide to sit back and let things come to them, but I feel that I have already lost valuable time!)

  1. You can go with a traditional publisher, but poems and short story collections are a tough sell.  You'll want to buy the book "2009 Writers Market".  There are a few types.  See them here:

    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url...

You can also self-publish.  Visit a self-publishing site like www.lulu.com (that one is my favorite).  If you self-publish you can still have your book listed on amazon.  Go to www.amazon.com/advantage for details on how to list your own self-published books.

Your third option is to start submitting your stuff to magazines so that it's out there and publishers see it.  That way you also have "clips" to send to publishers with query letters.  You'll learn how to do that in the Writers Market.  some magazines pay very well, almost more lucrative than books.

    Write every day.  Good luck!
