There are many good writers among children. Is there a publisher who specializes in working with children to publish their work(s) in the general market place?

  1. No, not really. Unless you have an agent, or are already published in some form (magazines, for instance), your work will go on the slush pile at any publisher. Some one, usually an intern, will read a sample of it. If she likes it enough, it goes to an editor. You have to wow usually three people before it goes to the approval group.

(True, I did not include self publishing. That is another game altogether.)

  2. Yes, look up www.kidbookink.com. This company is deeply involved in developing works BY children, tweens and teens. They work with the author and their families to cooperatively produce and market the work. Unlike places like Stone Soup, which prints works by kids in their magazine, KidBookInk helps the writer develop their work into a marketable work for sale. They also have a manuscript assessment service.

    For general publishing: www.kidbookink.com

    For manuscript assessments: www.kidsbookink.com

If you have child who loves to write I would suggest this group. As the founder of www.childrensyogaplay.com
