Sure...the same reason bicicyle shorts are tight. They don't move, so don't rub against your skin when you play. They also don't get in the way of doing your thing.

the technical reason we wear tight clothes is so they don't get in the way and actually stay on the body but most girls wear them to look hot

hm.. good question haha

The main reason is because it makes it so much easier to move and run and dive

your jersey and spandex never get caught and when you slide on the ground it is easy to get up

and they are very comfortable

also, so that it doesn't come off! The elastic on shorts can easily get pulled down when you're moving and playing volleyball.  Also, some moves would pull the bottoms up too high, so the spandex are actually covering us better than shorts might

Well besides that they are really comfertable, it helps you when you play. If your diving for a ball u can slide because ur shorts don't stop you. It's just the uuniform and that's what we wear. You can ask girls basketball players why there shorts are so long. It's just the uniform.

Because if you slide or roll for a ball then your shorts/shirt wont come up...if your wore regular mesh shorts, they would slide up, and you'd get alot more floor burn as well. And, why i love them being so tight, guys think its hot, and wearing thongs like every day. :] yayyy.

There is a reason why thet're so tight. It's because when you jump, or dive, it goes with you and won't get in the way. I know you think it's because the only reason the guys come to watch is because the uniforms a re so tight.

The true answer that all have been waiting for: to boost g-string and thong sales.  You really do not want to wear anything but those under garments with spandex shorts.
