I'm looking to by a used luxury sedan (2003-2005) that doesn't use premium fuel. I looked at the Acura TL and the BMW 3 series but they take premium. I wan luxury but not at the pump. Maybe that's why they call it luxury. Just thought I would check.

  3. Have you considered shopping domestic? The Lincoln Mark Z and the Cadillac CTS with base engine may fit your requirements. Of course, there's always the E-series Mercedes-Benz with Bluetec diesel at $55K, but I think you have something else in mind.

  4. Mercedes makes a couple diesels I think Audi does too. I dont know the years but I had a friend that had an older mercedes that ran on diesel.  It had amazing mpg. The E-class has one this year.  My car says it needs high octane but if you read the manual it says you can throw the cheap stuff in there and the computer will know and fix it then you will just get less power and mpg.

  5. nope you buy a car because you lik ethe way it drives first and how its track record is.... and dont  all cars need high octane... not all gas is the same nor all cars so one car might run better off of high octane at one place but run the same off of regular at another place... it depends on the car and the driver and what part of the country you live.... using high octane in some cars is great but some will run just fine without it only way of really knowing is by testing how it runs with differant types and brand of gas they are not the same.. buy the car you like to drive how it feels.... not by the color or what type of gas it should take
