Is there a quieter town near puerto vallarta?

I am looking for a quieter vacation place near puerto vallarta since I don't like crowded beach and hotels. Some time ago went to zihuatanejo and love it. That place is heaven on earth with great sandy beach and a lot quieter than neighbour Ixtapa which I did not like at all. Is there something similar on the west part of mexico?

Try the Villas & Hotel Maria Fernanda in Teacapan, Sinoloa Mexico.

It is north of P-V, and is protected by a barrier headland, which has an incredible unspoiled beach where the pacific swells roll in impressively..

I prefer Old Vallarta. The south end of town is so much quieter!

Mismaloya (approx 4 miles south of Puerto Vallarta proper) &  Bucerias in Nuevo Vallarta are both nice little towns to spend a lazy day in.  

Almost forgot to add Punta Mita in there as well.

try Nuevo vallarta, there are a lot of hotels and it is 20 minutes away from vallarta, the beach is better and it is quiet.
