I've been searching forever and I can't find any railways that connect me as directly as possible from Iowa to NYC. If not railways, any bus companies? This is for Fall Break, so te sooner you can answer, the better! Thnx in advance! :)

  1. You can look at www.amtrak.com to find an on-line scheduling system that will give you every route and schedule to NYC from where you are or nearby.

Have you tried Yahoo! Travel?  Rail tickets are expensive, and a discount air fare might be cheaper.

Oh, and to improve travel options and reduce travel costs for everybody, please vote for progressive candidates that know what the government is for.  Thanks.

  2. amtrak

  3. DUUUU THE PACIFIC RAIL ROAD

  4. Check Amtrak or Greyhound.  Good luck!

  5. I don't know why Amtrack wouldn't connect via Chicago? Certainly you must have called them.

  6. You'll have to change trains in Chicago. East from there, there are several trains to New York.

The Lake Shore Limited follows the Great Lakes/Erie Canal/Hudson River.

There's at least one across Pensylvannia.

There are routes that go by way of Washington,DC as well.
