  1. She was the daughter of the last czar of Russia. Her and her whole family were executed.

  2. yes, the movie was based on her. her life wasn't like the movie though...

    loved that movie!

  3. yes. google it

  4. Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanov was a real person.

She was a member of the Romanov Dynasty, Which was the Russian Royal Family.

However Nicholas II of Russia, his wife empress Alexandra Fyodorovna along with his 4 daughters Grand Duchesses Olga Nikolaevna, Tatiana Nikolaevna, Maria Nikolaevna, Anastasia Nikolaevna, along with Grand Duke Tsarevich Alexei, Were all murdered at Yekaterinberg by the Bolsheviks on July 17th, 1918.

Even though Alexei and one of his sisters ( they couldnt deturmin which one's ) bodies were missing.

Although it was claimed that that the Bolsheviks experimented with the two bodies (Alexis and his sister) to completely destroy the corpses after burning by crushing the bones to powder.

  5. There was a real Anastasia, the majority thought is that she was killed along with the rest of her family that had not escaped from Russia prior to the executions.

However, there was a woman who was thought to be Anastasia grown up; she was presented to the remainder of the royal family and nominally accepted as the real thing.

  6. There was a lady, Anna Anderson, who, in 1920 claimed to be Anastasia, however, in the 1990s, DNA tests revealed she was a Polish peasant named Franziska Schanzkowska.

Scientific testing has shown that Anastasia was killed along with the rest of her family and buried by a road somewhere around Yekaterinburg.

  7. There is a real Anastasia, her surname was Romanov, and she's a grand duchess (a title higher than a princess) of Russia before the Bolsheviks overrun the government.

There were women who claimed to be Anastasia, who survived the massacre of the Romanovs, and that part of the story is true, too.

There are many websites on this, you will find it interesting reading.  I myself believe that Anna Anderson, the most famous claimant, really was Anastasia, and that she had been unjustly deprived of her right to her title and to her inheritance.

Note that the court ruled NOT that Anna Anderson wasn't Anastasia, but that Anna Anderson did not submit enough evidence to prove her claim.  This was before the advent of DNA testing.

The DNA tests conducted in the '90s are questionable, at best, because Anna Anderson's DNA came from a laboratory sample of her supposed internal organ, which may have been replaced, and this DNA was compared to that of a grand-nephew of another person, not related to the Romanovs at all.  The DNA tests supposedly concluded that Anna Anderson was actually a Polish peasant.
