  1. Double check the thermostat wiring.  If you don't have the proper connections on the 24V control, nothing will happen.  Make sure to disconnect power before servicing, either by breaker or by disconnect located near the inside unit.  If it is a heat pump, you cannot use a standard thermostat.  Standard thermostat will use 4 wires, heat pump used 8.

  2. ok...... i see this problem all the time, b4 i jump to conclusion like everyone else will thats going to answer this, im going to assume you didnt turn off the power to the air handler

    steps:

    1. locate your fuse panel

    2. locate breaker marked airhandler

    3. turn breaker off, turn back on

    4. go to airhandler in attic

    5. find disconnect switch for airhandler

( might be a light switch), turn off, turn on

if its not, look for whats called a disconnect box, if your lucky it has a breaker, flip breaker off, then on

    6. if none of these work, call a service company

any further repairs beyond this point, will need a trained technicians expertise

more than likely, when the thermostat was replaced, you either crossed wires or  didnt turn the power off while replacing stat and now the transformer in the unit has gone bad

call a service company if steps 1 - 5 do not work
