I went to the Effiel Tower but did not stop on the first floor so I guess I missed the restaurants that these people talk about.  I know you can buy hot dogs and things on the second floor at a little restaurant.

Yes, but if you want to eat there, you should already call to have a table available, it takes about a month!

The tower has two restaurants: Altitude 95, on the first floor (95 m, 311 ft, above sea level); and the Jules Verne, an expensive gastronomical restaurant on the second floor, with a private lift. This restaurant has one star in the Michelin Red Guide. In January 2007, a new multi-Michelin star chef Alain Ducasse was brought in to run Jules Verne.

"Jules Verne".

It is one of the poshiest restaurants in Paris. The food is expensive but it is worth it. Enjoyed diner there once. Unforgettable experience.
