Is there a reverse phone directory ?

I need to reverse check a cellphone number as I want to check on who has been calling me on my cellphone at odd hours.

There's no reverse phone directory unfortunately.  However there are some private sources that can help you to find the details of a cellphone owner like name, address etc.

I also had problems of crank calls driving me up the wall.  I use the service below.

Try 411.com they have a tab for reverse number.

The problem is that they are trying to get you to pay for the information so  they might led you to another website that charges for the info.

Or you might get lucky and get the info.

I heard that Google has rolled out a phone directory lately, but I did not see it yet. Google will give you the location of a area code. Try typing 212 in Google search and see the result.

BTW: for a free 411 service you can call 1800-GOOG-411 or  1800-466- 4411

This company http://www.peoplelookup.com will give you some of the information you need, for free. But if you want all of it, you would need to pay $5.

It would be illegal to have a reverse phone directory for cell phone numbers. Anywho and similar websites have a reverse phone directory for land lines only.

A reverse directory lets you enter a persons phone number and it will tell you the name and address.  I do not know if it works for cell phones.  Go to any people finder on the net like The Ultimates.

www.whitepages.com is great for landlines, but if it's a cell phone number that's a different story.  I don't know of one for cell phones.  There are so many pay-as-you-go cell phones, that it would really be impossible to do a reverse look-up, especially since not all require name and other personal information.
