  1. not like an I-95 or Jersey Tpke, but you can find bike friendly roads to get you anywhere! google maps will let you actually move route markers to cange your route. and it also has a "no highways" option.

edit-- campy, thanks for the link! can you say "epic road trip!"? any joiners?

  2. i really don't know, but you can check it on yahoo maps

  3. It is possible to do so, yes.

The two major geographical obstacles, the Hudson and Delaware rivers, are easy to cross.

The Hudson can be crossed at the George Washington Bridge, which has a very nice bicycle / pedestrian walkway.

The Delaware River can be crossed at the Washington's Crossing bridge north of Trenton, which also has a nice pedestrian walkway.

Those aside, it's just a matter of scouting out what local roads to take through Jersey between Fort Lee and Washington's Crossing (70-80 miles), and what local roads to take through Pennsylvania from Washington's Crossing down to Philly (50 miles).  These distances are further than driving on I-95 because local roads are a lot less direct.

This trip would probably take at least 2 days on a bicycle, so it's definitely something you need to scout out and plan where to stay for the nights before attempting.

    Good luck.

  4. Although not a complete route, check out http://www.greenway.org/ for info on the East Coast Greenway - a project to link major cities on the east coast by a mix of bike paths and road routes.
