We currently live in a large village with low crime rate, shops just down the road, a park, nice walks and lots of activities for our 10 month old. I would like to know if there is somewhere similar around London, ideally around a 30 min commute to the city. We would like to know the ideal spots and maybe the next best places (just in case we can't afford the ideal spots). Many thanks for your help!

  1. Luton?

  2. Buckhurst Hill

    Loughton

    Hainalt

    Woodford

    These are all in Essex

    AVOID LEWISHAM, PECKHAM, BRIXTON, HACKNEY

  3. Buckinghamshire is about an hour away from the centre of London, and is a very nice area, however the south of Buckinghamshire is very expensive, so if you want something bigger, with more space than you already have, and get more for your money, the north of Buckinghamshire or  Berkshire is also a nice area, and is cheaper than Buckinghamshire, however the north of Berkshire is better than the south as it is closer to Buckinghamshire.

Another nice area is Hertfordshire and is also about 45 mins-1 hour to London.

  4. Why move if your village as a low crime rate?

I have a 3 years old and would love to go and live in the country.

like the person above said AVOID peckham and Brixton ,very bad areas (I should know I live in peckham).

    Surrey is nice especially Guildford

  5. depends on the budget! west surrey is really nice: guildford, esher, twickenham and richmond..

  6. london is a crime ridden dump so do not take kids there

  7. advice...dont head east
