I have a damaged right arm that cannot move the shifter and taking my left arm away from the steering wheel seems dangerous.

  1. Move to New Zealand we cater for people with your problem.

    Cheers mate

  2. nope, its dangerous.

  3. you know what. it takes practices.

i knew a guy that lost his right arm! and drove stick. so if

he can do it then you can.

but he did practices in empty parking lots first.

    good luck :D

  4. It would not be advisable to do this due mainly because of safety issues..

  5. I depends on how 'damaged' your right arm is, and how much of a contortionist you can be.

If you feel dangerous driving your car because of a problem with your arm, don't drive it.

[ Now if you could get your left foot over there and...]

  6. no

  7. I agree. If you can only use one arm, you need it for steering - although, watching the number of people who drive while talking on cell phones, and using their free hand to gesture with, I might be in a minority. Seriously, though, if you don't have full use of your right arm, you're probably better off with an automatic shift. Not quite as much fun, but easier in the long run.
