Is there a scientific explanation for this wacky weather?

Earthquakes in uncommon places (Illionis), the giant earthquake in China, the cyclone in Myanmar, flooding and tornadoes in the Midwest....is there a meterological explanation for this? Or is it the work of God trying to tell us something?

  1. Hi Chick,

First of all, earthquakes aren't meteorological phenomena.

Now to your question. These weather events have been taking place for thousands of millenia, and only now do humans have the ability to broadcast the extensive damage that these storms and events can cause.

Everything in nature is cyclical, meaning the earth is in a constant state of seeking balance, and the atmosphere is no different.

To put it bluntly, the United States can expect a very active weather pattern, as we are experiencing now every 10 years. These peaks include stronger-than-normal tornadoes, floods in the midwest and droughts in the south and in the west.

El Nino and La Nina have no effect on these, and if anything La Nina would suppress activity and El Nino will bring storm systems to even stranger places.

So relax, because this is a natural cycle and we will soon be back to normal. The earth is simply adjusting itself to a larger climotological activity, such as perhaps a seasonal change.

    Take Care!

  2. THE EARTH , OTHER PLANETS ARE WARMING UP , ALL PLANETS AND OUR SUN GO THROUGH CYCLES AND THEY ARE NATURAL . BUT IT'S NOT JUST EARTH THAT IS WARMING UP , SEVERAL OTHERS ARE TOO AND WE DON'T LIVE ON OR TRASH THEM SO GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT OUR FAULT AS THEY WOULD HAVE YOU BELIEVE . REMEMBER IN SCHOOL YOU LEARNED ABOUT ICE AGES ? WELL IN-BETWEEN EACH OF THOSE WAS A GLOBAL WARMING PERIOD AND MANKIND DID NOT CAUSE ANY OF THEM . THE BAD WEATHER WILL CONTINUE THREW 2011 - 2012 WITH THE PLANETS ALIGNMENT AS HAS NOT HAPPENED IN THOUSANDS OF YEARS .

  3. I agree with the person above me.  It is most likely something like El Nino.  I don't believe it's God or global warming.  Freak weather happens everyday, and, if you are prepared, you should never have to even comment on what happens.

Weather is ALWAYS freaky, and scary and wacky.  No one, even experts, can describe in a super scientific, spot on way what is always happening with the weather and and the world.

So be prepared and the weather should never take yo by surprise!

  4. some people would say global warming or something like that. From a weather standpoint it is La Nina kind of like El Nino.
