  1. Yes - 120hz means the screen refreshes 120 times a second and respectivly 60hz is only 60. Therefore if you get an image that has, for example, lots of horizontal lines that move (ie pictures of clothing) then the 120hz display will look much more realistic where as the 60hz screen will look flickery

  2. no

  3. Simply:

Film shot material is at 24fps

Video material is shot at 30fps

when viewing video material on a 60hz (which means 60 frames per second) the 30fps divides nicely into the 60fps.

However when viewing film shot material on 60hz the 24fps doesnt divide into it so nicley, so the 3:2 pulldown technique is used. That is for every 3 video frames that display once, there is a single video frame that is displayed twice. This allows an even frame rate to be divided into an odd-numbered display rate. This 3:2 causes artifacts, such as blurriness or choppy frames during fast motion.

The advantage of the 120hz framerate is that both 24fps and 30fps divide into it evenly, meaning smooth viewing for both video and film material.
