Is there a site i can go to and find out the value of different coins?

There are no really free sites where you can type in a coin and up comes a value. There are U.S. coin data bases but they cost. there are no world coin ones for they would have to be huge. The numismatic community still uses books but it is getting better. there are now programs for inventorying coins and now there are DVD's of world coin catalogs. It cost money to keep sites up dated, day by day for coin values. especially when it come to U.S. coins. There is also the problem of what grades are your coins, in other words do you know how to grade? The grade determines the value. on small lists of coins I can ballpark a value by giving values for a spread of grades. Other than that it is best to pick up a monthly price guide like  Coin Values. They are retail prices but give an idea of what a coin sells for. Figure 40 to 50 percent less if you sell to a coin dealer. Hope this helps.
