Does anybody know?

Being homeschooled, you really drift away from all your friends. It'd be nice to meet other homeschooled kids in my area and make friends :-)

  1. I will never understand why some kids think they can only meet kids online. Why not do it the old fashion way? Go to the park, library, movies, malls, skating rink, or maybe volunteer in something you have an interest in. My kids aren't allowed to add anyone to "friends" lists that we don't personally know, it is just to dangerous in this day and age. Chat rooms are horribly unsafe as well.

edit: Why are you drifting from your friends? Stay in touch! When we pulled my daughter out her friends seem to multipy in number becase she had more time for them. Also, Home school co ops would be a great idea.

  2. no i dont think so and if it is i think it is i unsafe to go to

  3. Search on Yahoo Groups for a HS group in your area.  If it's for HS'ing parents, ask if you could start  Yahoo Group for other HS'ed students.  I'm sure they'd be willing to help you out.

    http://groups.yahoo.com

As Melissa said, you could also find ways of meeting other HS'ed students by going to activities.  The middle/high schoolers around here do TONS of stuff together!

  4. I'm homeschooled (11th grade) and I met a bunch of kids through a organization called 4-H. Just look up 4-H in your county and state on the internet or the phone book. Who knows, you might met other homeschoolers in that 4-H group. Good luck!!! :)
