Is there a site where you can find out info about your current home? I think we have a ghost and want to see if anyone died there or something. Like my cousin and I saw it and then another time when we hadn't even told my mom she saw it and she is a huge skeptic and doesn't believe in ghosts and we hadn't told her what he looks like but she discribed him to us perfectly. He sits on our couch from 2am-3:30am like every night and if you go into the hall he turns his head and looks at you. He looks kind of like he is 55 or older and he wears a kind of old fashioned hat with a trench coat kind of thing. It's weird. Anyway to find out if he is friendly or not??

  1. Your best chance is to check the courthouse's deeds then track down the obituaries of the previous owners.

  2. Look on the internet to see if your county has a property appraiser's database. This is a database where you can type in your address and find out the information for your house. Some databases will have the previous owner's information.

If you live in an older area, ask some of the neighbors around you about the history of your house. I personally wouldn't mention the ghost right off the bat, but ask them if they knew who used to live there. A lot of times neighbors are more than happy to chat about the old days in the neighborhood.

  3. Not that I'm aware of, but you can track down the previouse owners.

Hall of records will have all the info you need from when the house was built, sometimes even info on the land BEFORE it was built.
