Question:

Is there a site that list ALL drivers offences and the demerit points in Australian States?

Often we are fined for offences we did not know existed.

If we knew the offences we could avoid committing them, the penalties and be law-abiding .

Often most information is unofficial, second-hand and dubious accuracy. Any ideas?

  1. You can check with your state road Authority.

In NSW we have the RTA and we can check out demerit points and how we lost it.

There is also a pdf we can download and see which penalties are for each offence and how much points we lose. If you knew what was in there the police could actually fine us for everything if they wanted to lol

  2. In america this would be TXDMV.org. However there are others as well such as Public Data.com  where you can look at other sites that they have for AU states.

  3. It's called the Australian Road Rules.

    http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/nsw/c...

Every State and Territory has their own additions to these though,.

In NSW such additional "rules" can be found in the ROAD TRANSPORT (DRIVER LICENSING) REGULATION, ROAD TRANSPORT GENERAL ACT and the Road Transport(Safety and Traffic Management) (ROAD RULES) Regulation, to name but a few.

NSW's RTA website allows you to view all offences and the associated demerit points.
