Is there a site to compare cars and gas mileage with regards to equity, or whether selling a car is worth it?

I have an old car (paid for) and want to get a newer model with better mileage, but since the new model will come with a payment, I don't know whether the better mileage will be worth it. I also have to consider the added value of the new car .
