    To the answerers above me, there ARE shoulder pads and head gear for rugby, they just aren't the big, bulky hard types like american footballers wear........

    AJ, what do you mean "now allows pads"? That ruling was brought in at least 10 years ago!!!

  5. Like the above answer said, rugby now allows pads.  It's like the old school football padding, but with better materials.
