ebay and craiglist but just because they don't want it- doesn't mean it's cheap.  People want the value of the item.

You can also try yard sales and flea markets- if it's not listed on the internet, you will most likely get it cheaper.

Ebay yes definately but also try freecycle and realcycle which are part of yahoo groups.  I have gave away many things on it...as well as after I moved recieved a huge box freezer, a brand new ladies mountain bike, a almost new ikea couch and tons of other things.  You do not pay for them...it is more like a trade system.  Things you no longer want instead of trashing them you 'freecycle' or 'realcycle' them to people that do want them.  You can also put a 'want' if you are looking for things.  There should be local groups near you.  Good luck!
