Is there a site where i can play magic the gathering online?

i went to the magic site clicked on the deom but that was just reading about the game. then i seen i had to download the game which was 1gb.that 1gb isn't the deom of the game is it.i'm a beginner and i just want to learn how to play the game before i think about buying the cards.i did play learn how to play the card game a little but that was using someone else's deck.

This is the Official  site for playing online. all the rules and settings are current.  and they have a training area where you can use preconstructed theme decks to play against other preconstructed theme decks.   The account costs a one time fee of about $11...  

I've been playing for about 3 years online, and more so offline....  Magic Online (MtGO) is a great way to either learn or practice online
