Is there a small farming village outside of LeMans France that anyone knows of?

I'm looking for a village that would be a good hometown for a charactrer I'm writing. A village that has maybe be within one days journey by foot. (The story takes place in the early 1800's). Any descriptions would be really appreciated. I've never been so I doin't know the area.
