Is there a software that can record what I am doing on my PC into a video file?

I want to make one of those videos where I take cutscenes from a game and make them into a video

I use Fraps http://www.fraps.com/ for games but you want a free one then use WeGame recorder http://www.wegame.com/download/ .

Record and take screenshots I use Jing http://www.jingproject.com/ on my desktop (but has a limit on recording) or Camtasia http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp

You can use any  of the screen caputure software to do that...yea some advanced software do give you option to edit videos like you wanted...cutting and editing caputured videos..just chk out in gooogle u will find loads
