Question:

Is there a software which is able to erase only the singer's voice in a song, so that it becomes instrumental?

I'm looking for a software, free if possible, which can help me create instrumental version of any song, erasing the vocals but keeping all the other instruments.

I think it's the same software that some artists ( mostly hip-hop ) use when they use samples for their own songs.

Is it available on the internet ?

Can I download it for free ?

Thank you in advance.

  1. that's impossible. there are a few programs that deletes certain sounds in a certain wavelength but if the singer is pavarotti nothing is deleted and sometimes instruments close to human vocal in their wavelength also erased (probably wind instruments)...

  2. Umm... not sure of anything that can do that exactly. If a program like that does exist, it's probably very buggy. That would take some insane programming/coding to pull off vocal removal.

I would just go on Youtube and search for "*insert song here* instrumental"

For example, if I wanted "His World" in instrumental, I'd search "His World Instrumental".

When you've found your video, go to mediaconverter.org and paste the URL of the video in the box under "convert video directly from various video portals". Then click "next step". After that, choose the file type you want. I'd suggest MP3. No need to change other options so click "next step", and click "next step" again on the next page. It will start converting, wait for the download icon to appear and right-click, save as, and choose where you want to save your instrumental download.

  3. It isn't free but just searching under "remove vocal from song" brought up one site that offers a program that does what you want. There are others but that's as far as I went. The site I found is:

  4. It's not as easy as it sounds.

The software I've tried (several) for this purpose don't work that great. I was trying to strip the vocals out, leaving the music only for karaoke.

    Wouldn't work.

If the vocals were totally on a track by themselves and the instrumentals on another, it would be easier. Some programs claim to identify the vocals and strip them out, but they do a very poor job of it.

Here's a YouTube video tutorial that illustrates what I'm talking about. They claim to use Audacity to remove vocals only, and as you can see, it sounds like c**p.

I guess pro studios have $100,000 software to do it with, IDK
