Hi,

While I am trying to find information for racial differences in genes for curiosity and knowledge, this is not, in any way, for the purpose of "racial" differences as some people might think that it could be take as "racism."

I have searched online but only a few groups are listed differences mainly: African-American, European-Americans and Chinese-Americans.

Also I know that certain diseases are inherited through your genes it'd interested to know if there is traits in your genes that give you bad sight since you are born or bad skin or the opposite.

Some people I have talked to, for example, have said that while they always suffered from something in their bodies other parts seen so perfecte they have never had problems with them. In my opinion, I consider that every single body in this planet has its flaws organically as well as its perfection in others. What do you think? Check if you have suffered from something since you were born and you always thought it was natural

  1. Her are a multitude of sites that may assist you in your research.

  2. You might want to search doctor or medical websites for genetic diseases and genetic disorders. Some types of Cancers have been noted to be genetic. As far as mental health, bipolar disorders can be attributed to genetics as well. Concerning phenotypes (physical differences) PBS did a special on what makes people different by genetics only, not by environment or other factors. They explained that what makes people have black or blonde hair or skin is determined by the individual's biological ability to absorbed different amounts of Vitamin D. This ability is passed on genetically. Vitamin D is found in milk and in other foods. However, Vitamin D will not be activated in the body until the person is exposed to sun light. The darker your features are in eye, hair and skin color; the more able your body is to absorb large amounts of Vitamin D. The lighter your features, the more likely your body will be able to absorb less Vitamin D. If you're wanting to get a tan, I recommend drinking a tall glass of milk before going outside. Tanning will not be easy for Albinos since they can't absorb any Vitamin D.

  3. I am highly photosensitive, and very, very, very, very prone to heat related illness, but can ski for 8 hours in a light jacket and lined pants on a freezing day.

I'm ethnically Northern Scottish, for the most part, and (speaking anthropologically, here) I have some distinct circumpolar phenotypes (body shape, shovel-shaped teeth, a couple of others.)

There is no doubt in my mind that I am the human equivalent of a huskie dog. I was not made for the heat, but for the cold.

The problem is that air and water travel have made the founder effect and niche selection a thing of the past in humans. You're not going to find many people in many regions who are evolutionarily adapted to that region.

  4. When you search the web, try using "genetic differentiation and ethnicity".  I think you'll get better results.  I did this and got "Dienke's Blog (sp?)"  which has some information that may be helpful, as well as numerous links.
