I am moving to Southen California, and I am a huge Disney freak. My DREAM job, aside from attorney, is to become a Jungle Cruise Skipper. What is the best process to do this? Is there a special audition? Should I memorize the spiel they give? I would love to hear from an actual Skipper, if possible.

  1. Smiles, odd separation, attorney to Disney, but you have chosen one of the coolest jobs in the park.

After working for WDW for several years I have to tell you, the line for those jobs is long.

In a general sense, when applying, you can request a position within the jungle cruise area, but then might still have to work your way onto the boat, so to speak.

Disney holds auditions for it's entertainment segments, not specifically for PATTER delivery jobs. It would be a job similar to haunted mansion, or any tour guide on property, delivering a practiced dialog.

Within the company however, you should make your desires known, and wait for an opening.

My best advice is get in first, then network and explore. Their concept is warm bodies to fill spots. Staff is pretty transient among the young, and openings do happen. keeping even the seemingly best job in the park for too long, makes you a dull employee.

    Just my 2 "scents"
