I was told that a battery on the 2003 Saturn Ion cannot simply be replaced; that if it was simply taken out and replaced, the radio would cease to function. Is there any truth to this? What do I have to do to replace the battery?

  1. I dont know about saturn ions BUT for years General Motors has been putting a Theft Lock System on thier RADIOS. iTS A pia.

Its there to protect the radio::: Get this::: you turn the theft lock protection system on ( you put in your code) and IF someone steals your radio---they cant turn it on. Imagine that !!

The dumbest Gxx x*x thing I ever heard of. It does nothing but cause problems for owners and especially 2nd buyers who dont 1) know the system is turned on and 2) dont know what code #was used.

If you are the first owner there is no problem because you did not activate the system it will not affect your radio.

If you are the second owner the system may or may not be on. Consult your owners manual for more information.

  2. I don't know really, BUT CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE A REAL CAR!
