For a few months I have been having increasing problems with unexplained clumsiness. I don't seem to be able to judge distance very well, or to determine where my limbs are relative to things around me. As a result, I trip and fall a lot. I also drop and spill things regularly, and knock things over several times a day. In the kitchen, I burn and cut myself often when preparing food. Yesterday, after accidentally cutting my forefinger on a can lid, and then stabbing myself in the thumb with a pair of scissors just a few minutes later, I realized that when I cleaned both injuries and doused them with alcohol, I felt no pain whatsoever. These were both deep cuts, which hurt when I initially injured them and bled profusely. Surely, I should have felt at least a twinge of pain when I poured alcohol into the wounds. Tonight I poured hydrogen peroxide over them. Still, not the slightest bit of pain. Now I'm wondering if that pain tolerance is in some way related to my inability to sense other things properly with my hands and feet.

  1. Inner ear infection?

  2. It definitely could be related.  I would go to your doctor soon and get checked out.  You also may want to try a neurologist because it sounds like your symptoms may be neurological.  It could be nothing, but its always better to be on the safe side!

    Good Luck!
