  1. yes

  2. same as the rest of the road. its for two people or more that is the only difference.

  3. The speed limit in the carpool lane is the same as the other lanes.  Usually 65 or 70 mph on most freeways.

And, contrary to what bretsterdmanly said, the carpool lane may NOT be used for passing.  You may only enter and exit at designated points.

  4. same as the other lanes

  5. 299

  6. its no different than the normal lane. probably 65mph..

  7. doesn't matter, the lane is for passing only. it is not to stay in and hang out. do your pass then get out of the lane.

  8. It is the same as what applies to the multi-purpose lanes adjacent to the carpool lane.

  9. same as the speed limit as the other lanes

  10. The carpool lane is subject by the same speed limits as the rest of the freeway... (But in California I've noticed people generally ignore them and drive as fast as traffic allows.) The only difference is the number of people of the car.. Some require 2 or more people... Some require 3 or more people... But what people miss is there are some that you can even drive in alone because they have time rules... Some carpool lanes say 2 or more people only between for example 6 and 10 a.m. and 2 and 7 p.m.  The rest of the time anyone can drive in them.. Even a person alone... They best key is to watch the signs for the freeway that you are currently on, and read the fine print at the bottom of the signs... Always read the fine print on anything that can get you into trouble.. ;)

The speed limit in the carpool lane is the same speed limit as all of the other lanes.  For example, on the freeway the speed limit is 65 mph, that also included the carpool speed limit.
